Hello! My name is Katie Greiner. I am an upcoming 2023 graduate from the University of Findlay with a Bachler in Arts. My licensure area is AYA (Adolescents Young Adults) Social Studies and Museum Studies. With my licensure area, I am qualified to teach grades 7 through 12 in social studies. I have worked in both high school and middle school classrooms during my experience in Findlay's educational program. I enjoy teaching both levels but I found passion in teaching in middle school.
Here is some personal information from me. I'm from Zanesville, Oh, in Muskingum county. From that city, I am a graduate from Maysville High School in 2019. I was mostly involved in my school's student government and always looking for challenging classes in college-level courses. I grew up playing a lot of sports but my competitive passion was mainly in Archery and Softball. I played archery for about five years and softball for seven. A fun fact about me is that I have a speech condition called apraxia that makes me sound either British, Australian, or southern. My students always get a kick out of it when I can't pronounce certain words.
I found my love for teaching history when I was in my junior year at Zane's State College, Zanesville Ohio. My government class was the challenge I need that spark my curiosity about past events. My love of history comes from comparing past to present events and viewing the effects of certain events and decisions. My main drive in history is to include all sides of history as many are viewed from one standpoint. History needs to be told as there is always a second or third party that was involved. Come along to this blog to see my experience with University of Findlay's education program.
